How It All Started

Back in 2018, KWI owner Kris was told by a friend: "You have to be out there." So Kris and his buddy Bill loaded up a trailer, made the drive out to the dunes, and spent the weekend doing what KWI does best — installing Float Mods and clutch kits, right out of the same trailer they were sleeping in. What they found was something that couldn't be ignored. The demand was real, the need was clear, and the Glamis community was exactly the kind of passionate riders KWI was built for.

By the 2019 dune season, KWI had a pop-up shop set up right on Vendor Row, and we haven't looked back since.

We stay until every UTV in our line is dialed in, calibrated, and ready to hammer down. Over seven seasons, we've refined our setup to make the 1,900-mile journey more efficient and the customer experience smoother than ever. Now entering our 8th Glamis season, we're more ready than ever to make your clutching the best it can be.

Can-Am Owners: Fast Float Service at Glamis

For Can-Am riders, we're once again offering our Fast Float service — the most popular clutch upgrade we offer at Glamis, and for good reason.

The KWI Float package includes:

All four sheaves machined with improved angles for better belt contact, reduced wear, and stronger grip
KWI Lifetime Warranty secondary rollers
Floating secondary that moves with the primary, eliminating alignment issues, reducing belt heat, and getting more power to the ground

If you're running a PDrive, we'll also replace the internal components that swell under heat — causing the clutch to get stuck open, leading to hard shifting and accelerated wear — along with a fresh set of primary thrust rollers.

For dune riding specifically, we strongly recommend the Float Pro Aggressive. Sand puts a heavy load on your clutches, and belt slip is the #1 cause of belt failure. The Float Pro Aggressive is engineered to eliminate belt slip under those high-load conditions, keeping temperatures down and keeping you out of the sand instead of digging your machine out of it.

If you're running a Pro R, the Fusion Pro R System is the clutch upgrade your machine was always supposed to have. Our Fusion Pro R primary and secondary transform the Pro R's power delivery — more torque to the wheels, improved cooling, a floated secondary for continuous belt alignment, and the ability to run different belt sizes to fine-tune your gear ratios. All billet, built to handle stock horsepower all the way past 700 HP.
