PD HD Float
The KWI PD HD Float is a precision-engineered clutch upgrade for the 2025+ Can-Am Defender HD11 and Can-Am X3 135hp Base Model (Turbo R, 64") — both equipped with the BRP PDrive primary system that suffers from a combination of factory alignment issues, clutch drag, and premature roller wear. The result is hard shifting, belt drag, secondary spin at idle, and frequent belt failures that compound over time. The PD HD Float solves all of it at the source.
Every PD HD Float begins with a full clutch inspection before any work is performed — if worn or damaged components are found, KWI will email a repair estimate for approval before continuing. All primary and secondary sheaves are trued and refinished for optimal belt contact, the secondary clutch is machined to float and self-align with the primary under all load conditions, the PD Update addresses heat-swelling and primary sticking at idle, and a fresh set of BRP OEM Primary Rollers and KWI Secondary Rollers (lifetime warranty against wear) are installed in every package.

PD HD Float — Full clutch inspection, trued and refinished sheaves, secondary float machining, BRP OEM Primary Rollers, and KWI lifetime warranty secondary rollers. The foundation — fixes factory alignment, reduces belt heat, and eliminates hard shifting at the source.
PD HD+ Float — Everything in the PD HD Float plus the Defcom 7 Base Clutch Kit — adjustable weights for smoother engagement and better backshifting on stock or lightly tuned Defender HD7, HD9, HD10, HD11, and X3 135hp builds.
PD HD Pro Float — Everything in the PD HD+ Float plus the Defcom 7 Pro Kit — adds the DR3 Groovix Helix and Black/Green Secondary Spring for better belt grip, active cooling, and stronger performance under load.
PD HD Cruiser Float — Everything in the PD HD Float plus the AO-P1 Cruiser Clutch Kit — designed for lower cruising RPMs, smooth drivability, and efficiency. The ideal setup for Defender HD11 trail and utility riders who want the float benefits without a performance-focused tune.
PD HD Cruiser Pro Float — Everything in the PD HD Cruiser Float plus the Groovix Helix Upgrade — adding cooling-channel helix technology for enhanced belt control and better backshifting in work or high-load situations.
Roller Maintenance Notice: BRP OEM primary rollers are known wear items and must be inspected after every ride. If you feel side-to-side play or see visible wear, replace immediately to avoid idle clutch drag and performance issues.
Important: This product requires you to send your Primary and Secondary clutches to KWI for installation. This service must be performed in our shop to ensure proper fitment and performance.
